"Private" schools lure the less fortunate into their schools with promises of gainful employment after graduation but generally seem to burden their graduates for life with un-bankruptable student loans. To run this scam the schools must be accredited, for only accredited schools may offer taxpayer subsidized student loans.
This is how government works: the Department of Education threatens to correct true abuses. The schools with their $30 billion income from this scam fork over $16 million in campaign contributions. The government backs off. Everyone happy, nothing changes.
The department of education was created in 1980. We need to get rid of it and all of its programs. If you say that, people think education will end in USA. Hmmmm... we had no dept of education for 200 years. Things got worse after we created it. Why do we need it?
